The Bahamas is a first class international financial center with history. To preserve its reputation and keep pace with the changing global arena legislators during the year 2000 enhanced The Bahamas financial services sector offer. New laws requiring all financial service providers operating from this jurisdiction were introduced creating a minimum standard for customer interface.
To protect the integrity of the jurisdiction, the Bahamas has legislated Know Your Customer regulations which require Alliance to retain (in complete confidentiality) information on individuals and institutions operating through it. These requirements are as follows:
- First four pages of the passport of the account holder or beneficial owner of the account.
- Two professional letters of reference on the account holder or beneficial owner of the account; one from their banker of more than three years. The bank reference should indicate the address of the account holder and that a banking relationship existed over the time period to the institution's satisfaction.
- A profile on the account holder or beneficial owner of the account.
